Challenge
This busy restaurant and entertainment precinct needed a major refurbishment, but trade for the nearly 30 tenants could not be impacted by the works. Rodine was engaged for demolition, structural works and fit-out to revitalize facilities, common areas, landscaping and ambience.
Build
Minimising impact to tenants’ trade provided a narrow window for what was in effect heavy demolition and structural rebuilding. By 9 am each morning, Rodine ensured the site was clean and safe, then work recommenced at midnight. Rodine worked closely with design and engineering consultants to achieve results that were on-time and on-budget.
Innovation
One of Rodine’s strategies to streamline the project was to repurpose an underused part of the centre to establish a precast yard to form the 3-tonne concrete benches. This saved the client considerable costs in terms of freight and time.
