Etihad Stadium Garden Gate Bar
Challenge
Rodine jumped at the opportunity to return to Etihad Stadium in Docklands to build the high-profile Garden Gate Bar. With work commencing early February, our challenge was to ensure that the bar was open for the start of the busy 2017 AFL season in late March. The distinctive bar design included more than twenty-five lineal metres of bar frontage, unique beer fonts, custom designed and built banquette seating and steel framed tables, with windows opening onto the external concourse.
Build
Due to the short build time, new structural requirements to support overhead keg displays and customised refrigeration and stainless steel works, planning and programming were critical to ensure readiness for the opening date. With a strong project portfolio in food and beverage projects, Rodine seamlessly worked through the complicated layout of the reticulated beer and post-mix systems which ran over a great distance. Rodine were able to complete the project two days early, which provided the client crucial time for stocking and training in preparation for the AFL season.
Service
Rodine was consulted early on in the project to provide indicative costs from preliminary concept drawings – a value-add service Rodine regularly provides for many of our clients. Rodine have now built a number of food and beverage facilities within Etihad Stadium and strongly value our relationship with stadium management and its key stakeholders.
