Challenge

Rodine oversaw this renovation of a historic building into Melbourne’s premier craft beer hall. The building, which had at various times in its 100-year history been a bank, a government office and a theatre-restaurant, underwent a total transformation.

Build

The design called for a space that was a nod to early-twentieth century finishes yet provides the satisfying and inclusive experience expected of modern multi-functional venues. However, renovating any historic structure involves the need to adapt as the building reveals its mysteries. This build was no different, as the task of modernising services, installing essential safety measures and reinforcing the structure called on Rodine’s diverse construction expertise.
